Cedars, Blue Eagles Share Points

Gbagada and Dannaz settled for a point each in a game that started off quietly.

Both sides came into the game searching for important points to push them higher on the log. Their on-field action did not however match their ambition as both sides played out a quiet first half no thanks to each team cancelling out the other.

The second half was however different, with Gbagada’s Idowu going close in the 50th minute. His chip however went wide as the game gradually kicked into gear. A few substitutions would later do the trick for Gbagada as they opened their account in the 82nd minute.

A rebound from Abdulazeez’s save fell to an unmarked Victor Emmanuel in the 6-yard area. The subs powered shot between bodies and into the net for his first of the season while putting Coach Akinyelu’s side on course for victory.

But two minutes later, a penalty conceded by the Blue Eagles changed the script. Oluwafemi Ogunriola stepped up and converted, drawing the visitors level. The result sees both sides drop down one spot on the log, with Gbagada now in 9th and Dannaz in 11th.
