Broad City recorded a first home win of the season with a 3-1 triumph over Imperial.
Both sides began the game evenly matched, with a lot of the early action played in the midfield. The chances which fell to each side were wasted as the game remained tie at half-time.
The Imperial goalkeeper, who had little to do in the first half, conceded the opening goal in the 63rd minute. A quick counter-attacking play by Broad City caught the Imperial defense offguard. Hanif Sanusi was on hand to finish off the move as the hosts broke the deadlock.
In the 80th minute, Christopher Jeremiah doubled Broad City’s tally, catching Kator Daniel out of position with an attempt from 30 yards out.
Two minutes later, the Imperial defense was again in the eye of the storm, backtracking under pressure to defend another Broad City counter-attack. It would prove futile as Christopher Jeremiah scored again to secure maximum points for the hosts, despite Ayomide’s late goal.
