Another Game, Another Draw for Valiant

High-flying Atlantic Business failed to unlock a sturdy Valiant as both sides shared points in Ijebu Ode.

The visitors opted for a patient start to the game, with players exchanging short passes and controlling possession. It was no surprise when the game’s first big chance fell to Coach Japhet’s boys in the 12th minute.

Kolawole Odulaja broke through on goal after a well-worked move by his teammates. His shot was however blocked as the Valiant defense quickly recovered.

The chance jolted Valiant to life as they increased the pace of their game, matching their visitors’ energy. For all of this however, the first half failed to produce a goal. The second period followed the first in like manner: end-to-end action but no goals to show for it.

Both sides were finally separated by the full-time whistle that brought an end to a game that had everything but goals. For Valiant, it’s a third draw in a five-game-old season. But they’ll be looking at the positives from this one, especially defensively as they’ve become the first side to keep a clean sheet against Atlantic Business this season.
