Gbagada needed a late goal to snatch all three points in their home victory over Iganmu.
The contest kicked off with both sides evenly matched and no chances created in the first 20. Iganmu however upped the ante and were rewarded for their effort with a penalty. Blessing Akinboboye however dived in the right direction, keeping the score level.
That would end up being the biggest chance of the half as both sides played out a goalless half.
In the second 45, Gbagada increased their search for a win. Victor Emmanuel got a chance to put his side ahead in the 55th minute. His attempt however went straight to the goalkeeper as the game remained level.
Gbagada’s winless streak seemed destined to add a fourth game until Sefiu Abdulramon changed the script in the 85th minute. A low pass from the left found the player well positioned in the 18-yard area. His right-footed shot evaded everyone on its way into the net, breaking the deadlock with just minutes left on the clock.
The Blue Eagles would hold on till the end, securing a first victory since Opening Day.
