Dino and Sporting Lagos settled for a point a piece in an enthralling encounter that had it all.
In typical fashion, the hosts began the game as the more dominant sides. Their finishing however let them down as they fluffed some big chances early in the half. The Lagosians however weren’t that wasteful and broke the deadlock with their first real chance of the game.
An amazing run down the right flank was finished off with a low cross into the box. Yusuf Abdullahi’s simple tap-in was enough to put Coach Caleb’s side in front. What followed in the second half were two own goals scored, one by each team.
The Lagosians looked set to take all three points back home. But Hassan Agbede had other ideas, burying a low shot into the bottom corner and drawing Dino level.
The game ended all square, a result that saw Sporting Lagos drop into second spot.
MAN OF THE MATCH
Seun Akanji (Sporting Lagos)
The energetic winger was more than a handful for both full-backs. Constantly outpacing his marker, the second-half sub made the most of his presence and even forced an own goal from his opponents.
