Dannaz Suffer Heavy Defeat as Broad City Hit Them for Six

Broad City zoomed into top spot after putting six past Dannaz in a statement win

The hosts had their visitors in a chokehold from the blast of the whistle, dominating the game. So, it was no surprise when they broke the deadlock through Bakare Ayomide’s ninth minute goal. The Dannaz defense were caught ball-watching as the winger rose highest to nod home from close range.

The Cedars, taken aback by the goal, struggled to contain their opponents. On a rare occasion, they found success with their attacking foray in the 18th minute, drawing level thanks to Ozulumba Promise’s goal.

But Dannaz, unable to contain their hosts, went behind again, this time in the 32nd minute. Ahmed Badmus added his name to the score sheet as the hosts regained their lead – a lead they would go on to maintain until full time.

In the second half, Coach Ogunmoyero unleashed his boys on Dannaz, and they went on a rampage. Jeremiah Christopher got the first goal of the half in the 47th minute before adding to his tally in the 70th minute. 12 minutes from time, Bakare Ayomide scored his second goal before bagging a hat-trick in the 82nd minute.

Bala Sabiu’s 90th minute goal was nothing more than a consolation for Dannaz. The 6-2 defeat is their heaviest this season – a fourth in five games. Worrying times ahead for Coach Bashiru Fatai?
