Sporting Lagos avenged their TCC Cup final loss in May with a 2-1 win over Beyond Limits.
The highly-anticipated contest kicked off as a relatively cautious affair. Most of the first half featured everything else except goals. The quiet affair saw both goalkeepers rarely troubled and most attempts either off target or blocked off into being corner kicks.
The second half started in like manner. But the wait for the first goal of the half was shorter – ten minutes into the half, the first goal was scored.
Sporting Lagos pounced on a loose pass and made the most of the opportunity to race into the lead. They would go on to extend their lead in the 72nd minute after Ephraim Luka’s exquisite finish.
Despite pulling one back, the host succumbed to the superiority of their visitors. It’s a first defeat of the season for the hosts as their 100% record comes to an end.
