Iganmu Register First Goal and First Point of the Season in Surprise Draw

For a second time this season, Real Sapphire dropped points away from home after being held to a 1-1 draw by Iganmu.

The hosts came into the game searching for their first goal and point of the season. They were, however, met by an opposition that oozed confidence and dominated the ball possession. 

Unfazed by their guests, Iganmu waited for the perfect moment and struck in the 21st minute to break the deadlock.

A sloppy play by the Real Sapphire defense gifted Valiant ball possession around the 18-area. Farug Ajagbe was threaded through on goal with a decisive pass. He finished with aplomb, giving Iganmu the lead in a TCC League game for the first time this season.

But that lead lasted just six minutes.

After forcing the hosts to concede a set-piece in a dangerous area, Ismail Adams powered home Ayomide Junaid’s freekick with a bullet header, drawing Real Sapphire level.

Both sides went into the break inseparable as the referee called time on the half. Things stayed the same even after the second 45, as both teams ended the game equally matched.
