Sporting Lagos Secure Maximum Points in Seven-goal Thriller

Sporting Lagos saved the best for last as they bagged maximum points in dramatic fashion.

Having lost their last three on the bounce, the visitors had their eyes on redemption. But things started off in the worst way possible as they conceded in the 7th minute of the game. Unperturbed, they pushed for an equalizer and got it in the 22nd minute, with Victor Samuel’s lob over the goalkeeper drawing the visitors level.

Three minutes later however, Dannaz, showing determination, went in front again. Sporting Lagos would draw level. However, they had to wait till the 56th minute before Solomon Adabo’s curler restored parity. And just before the hour mark, Sporting Lagos raced into the lead for the first time as Victor Samuel bagged a double via a header.

The rollercoaster took a turn 11 minutes from time as Dannaz drew level. The Cedars looked poised to steal a point. But Victor Samuel had other ideas. He was the fastest to react, sending home a rebound after John Lucky’s penalty bounced off the bar to bag his hat-trick.

His would be the last goal of the game as Sporting Lagos wrapped up an eventful season in style.
