Atlantic Business Hold Off Gbagada for Fifth Away Win on the Bounce

Atlantic Business continued their hot streak on the road with a 3-2 victory at Gbagada.

The visitors began the game in the best possible way, breaking the deadlock in the third minute. Unmarked, Sabitu Owobo found his way into the box before tucking one in for the opener. In the 25th minute, Moyosore Onikoyi, after losing his marker, doubled Atlantic’s lead after a second attempt.

The Blue Eagles, unusually quiet in the first half, started the second on the front foot. So, it was no surprise when Semiu Fagbayi looped one over Wasiu in goal three minutes after the restart.

But Sylvanus Aniefiok, a second half substitute, restored Atlantic’s two-goal lead on the hour mark, putting the visitors back in control. Five minutes later, another substitute got on the score-sheet, this time for Gbagada, as Temitope Akinbami pulled one back for Gbagada.

However, it was not enough to spur a comeback for Coach Akinyelu’s side as Coach Japhet’s side would go on to win the game. The result sees Gbagada slip into fourth place, just one point ahead of Atlantic Business in fifth.
