Real Sapphire’s Title Run-in Takes Another Twist with Draw at Dino

Real Sapphire’s journey to a maiden TCC League title took another turn this weekend as they were held to a 1-1 draw at Dino.

The log leaders, coming into the game, had failed to defeat Dino in their last two attempts. That added to the pressure of the chasing pack hot on their heels and led by Beyond Limits, Coach Dan’s boys had it all to play for.

Both sides started the game creating chances but it was the hosts who broke the deadlock with a fantastic Samuel Obudu strike. The visitors however, not willing to let their hosts out of sight, levelled in the third minute of extra time.

Joshua Ibrahim tapped home from close range, taking advantage of a mix up in the Dino defense.

Both sides failed to find the back of the net again till the full time whistle. The result means Real Sapphire, just one point above Beyond Limits, has it all to do on final day.
