Rampant Real Sapphire Rout Dannaz

For the first time this season, Real Sapphire scored five times in a TCC League game as they walloped Dannaz 5-1.

The lively contest saw both sides press for early goals. It was however the hosts that broke through in the 18th minute. Bidemi Amole finished off a counter-attacking move with aplomb after some fine foot work. Two minutes later, Abdulazeez Lateef got in on the action as Real Sapphire extended their lead.

In the 24th minute, Dannaz halved the lead through Osarenkhoe who squeezed one into the net after some poor defending by Real Sapphire. But Dannaz’s struggle with Real Sapphire’s brilliant wing play took another toll four minutes later as Owenba Promise fired home from close range after a fine cross from Bidemi. Akinfenwa Musa added a fourth before half-time as the visitors went into the break with a commanding lead.

They would add a fifth before the final whistle as they punished Dannaz for a lethargic display. They may have relinquished the league title to Beyond Limits. But the result shows they’re still willing to finish as high as possible on the log table.
