Smashed Sapphire in Broad City as Title Run-in Takes Different Twist

Real Sapphire’s journey to a maiden title suffered a blow over the weekend as they lost 1-0 to Broad City.

The log leaders came into the game on shaky legs, having failed to win their previous two games. And although they were on an 18-game unbeaten run, the once-sturdy sapphire was showing cracks in it.

And Broad City took full advantage, striking when it mattered, with Famoyegun Micheal getting the only goal of the game in the 73rd minute. There would be no come-backs for this time as they bowed to a first defeat this season – falling short of Beyond Limits’ record 19-game unbeaten run last season.

Coach Dan’s journey to a first-ever TCC League title is still on. But seeing that his side is now three points above Beyond Limits, every game from now till the end is a final for Real Sapphire.
