Broad City 2 - 1 Voe Football

2nd March, 2026

Hanif Late Double Seals Comeback Victory for Broad City

Broad City finished off February on a high with a 2-1 victory over VOE FA.

They however had to come from behind to snatch victory after going behind in the 28th minute. A defensive mix-up meant Broad City failed to clear their lines, an invitation VOE was more than happy to accept. Shogbaike Oluwasegun was in the right place at the right time to take advantage of the melee and fire home to the frustration of Rufus in goal who had earlier made a brilliant save. The rest of the half dragged on with no clear-cut chances as VOE went into the break in front.

In the 2nd half, Broad City mounted pressure in their search for an equalizer. They besieged the VOE defense, asking questions time and again. In the 77th minute, they broke VOE’s resolve, forcing a penalty which Sanui Hanif converted.

10 minutes later, VOE launched a counter-attacking play looking to score the winning goal. Muhammed Sodiq’s lob over the keeper however hit the woodwork and bounced back into the arms of a relieved Rufus who launched the ball for a fast break by the hosts. One pass led to another, and another, before the ball ended up at Sanusi’s feet who, taking the initiative, despite being almost 25 yards out, fired a thunderous bolt that flew past Akolade for the winner.

A dramatic end to a game that sees Broad City continue their resurgent form.
