Atlantic Business 2 - 2 Valiant FC

2nd March, 2026

Business Team Lose (Title Race) Steam After Valiant Draw

For a second league game running, Atlantic Business dropped points from a winning position after being held to a 2-2 draw by Valiant.

The hosts began the game on the front foot, breaking the deadlock in the 3rd minute thanks to an own goal by Mohammed Usman who inadvertently put the ball past his teammate.teammates.

The lead however lasted only four minutes as Valiant drew level through Samuel Michael’s strike. With both sides even, and the momentum sky high, both sides pushed for a second goal. While both sides had their chances, they failed to convert until the half-time whistle.

The 2nd half began like the first ended, with both sides pressing for a goal. 13 minutes in, Atlantic Business found the breakthrough. Chinonso Onyegbulam was in the right place at the right time to head home from close range and put the hosts in front. However, just like in the first half, that lead lasted only eight minutes, as Valiant drew level again, setting the game up for a nervy finish.

And a nervy finish it was, with both sides throwing away the chance to seal the win, the most notable being Shekinah Michael’s miss from the spot in the third minute of stoppage time.

The result leaves Atlantic Business farther from the top spot than they’d love to. It also leaves Coach Japheth with a lot of questions to answer.

MAN OF THE MATCH

Samson Kolo (Valiant)
The goalkeeper’s brilliance was significant enough to make Valiant’s second goal count at the end of the day.
