Dino’s topsy-turvy February continued last weekend as they dropped points from a winning position.
The lively encounter began with Dino getting the lion’s share of the big chances in the 1st half. The visitors however failed to make the most of their chances, fluffing them to the delight of the Sporting Lagos defense. The hosts grew into the game as the half wore on, but like their guests, had nothing to show for it after the blast of the half-time whistle.
The pace of the game intensified in the 2nd half, with Sporting Lagos drawing an early save before lobbing an attempt over the bar. Dino, smelling blood, took the initiative and broke the deadlock in the 64th minute. Christian Nwachukwu finished off the ball nicely from inside the box after a neat exchange of passes.
The guests seemed destined to steal maximum points on the road until Sporting Lagos struck in the 81st minute.
Second-half substitute, Abdullahi Aminu’s lobbed pass found its way behind the Dino defense and into Salisu Faisal’s path. The substitute wasted no time dispatching his shot beyond Toriola Hammed for the equalizer. The game would end level, with Sporting Lagos continuing their poor run of form at home.
