Sporting Lagos Leave it Late as Broad City Drop Points

A late equalizer was enough for Sporting Lagos as they snatched a draw from the jaws of defeat against Broad City.

The hosts began on a slow note as they succumbed to the pressure from the visitors. After taking so much pressure, they caved in the 21st minute, conceding from a counter-attacking play.

After a short melee in the 18-yard area, Istifanus Freedom had the last say, his deflected shot bouncing into the bottom left corner of the goal. Staring defeat in the face, and a potential drop out from the Top 4 zone, the hosts upped their game, pushing for an equalizer.

But all of their efforts were thwarted by a sturdy Broad City defense… until Abuchi Lawrence was brought on. Three minutes into stoppage time, the winger unleashed a wicked curler from the edge of the box. His attempt, a strong contender for the Goal of the Season award, evaded the goalie and settled into the top left-hand corner of the onion bag.
