Resuscitated Real Sapphire picked up a fourth win in a row after their 2-0 victory against Gbagada.
With Coach Arthur Ferreira at the helm, the hosts got off to the best start possible, breaking the deadlock in the 11th minute. Musa Akinfenwa was on hand to convert from the spot after a penalty was awarded against the Blue Eagles.
Seven minutes before half-time, Bidemi Amole doubled Real Sapphire’s lead, handing them a comfortable lead going into the break.
What followed an eventful 1st half was a quiet 2nd 45, with both goalkeepers having a field day as both sides threatened to score. For a second consecutive league game, Gbagada failed to find the back of the net as Real Sapphire ran out winners, continuing their climb to the top of the log.
