A goal in each half was enough for Dannaz as they picked up their third win of the season against Iganmu.
Dannaz, without a win since facing the same opponent in November, started the game with more urgency than their hosts. And they would find the breakthrough in the 24th minute as Abdullahi Usman put Coach Fatai’s side ahead.
That lead was however neutralized five minutes into the second half as Dannaz conceded a penalty. Ulugbe Chinedu stepped up and converted from the spot to pull Iganmu level. The visitors, finding fresh confidence, pushed for their second goal. They would however be caught off-guard 16 minutes from time.
Muhammad Shuaib’s initial shot was parried by Mufutau Osholonge but only as far as Monike Akhigbe’s path. The striker, well positioned in enemy territory, kicked the ball hard and low, to restore the visitors’ lead. They would maintain that lead till the end of the game, extending Iganmu’s wait for a second win of the season.
