Dino Dragged Back Down to Earth as Gbagada Soar

Gbagada bagged a first home win since January, fighting off Dino to record a slim 2-1 win.

The contest started out as a cagey one, with each side attacking the other cautiously. It was however the Blue Eagles who broke the deadlock in the 30th minute. 

Dino’s failure to clear their lines saw the ball fall kindly to Gome Namene. The midfielder coolly finished off the chance to put Coach Akinyelu’s side in front. Eight minutes later, Dino drew level as Ezekiel Umor registered his name on the scoresheet.

That lead however barely lasted 60 seconds as the hosts struck again to take the lead just before half-time. Semiu Fagbayi pounced as Dino made yet another Dino defensive error. The winger, after stealing the ball from the goalie’s feet, put the ball into an empty net, restoring Gbagada’s lead.

They would go on to hold on to their lead, inching closer to that evasive third spot on the log. For Dino, the topsy-turvy ride continues.
