Beyond Limits Leave it Late at Dino to Restore Five-Point Lead

Beyond Limits continued their quest to snatch the TCC League title from Real Sapphire after a slim 1-0 victory over Dino.

The log leaders came into the game with two objectives in mind: extend their 11-game winning streak and avenge themselves of a TCC Cup quarter-final exit against Dino two ago.

Whatever energy the visitors came with was however matched by the hosts, with Dino forcing a goal-line clearance and goalkeeper save after just two minutes of play. After 10 minutes of play, both goalkeepers had been called into action, with goal-mouth scrambles and both sides registering goal attempts on target.

Despite the chances created by both sides in the 1st half, it ended all square as both teams went into the break without a goal.

The break did nothing to dampen the enthusiasm between both sides as they began the 2nd 45 with vigour, pressing for the opener. Dino forced another goal-line clearance before Yusuf danced his way into the box, threatening to gift Beyond Limits the lead.

The encounter seemed destined for a draw until the 83rd minute. Adegboye Ayomide won the ball in the midfield and races towards Dino’s goal with little to no opposition. Few yards from the 18-yard area, he curled a low shot that evaded everyone else on its way into the bottom right corner.

That goal would separate both sides at the end of the day, with Beyond Limits handing Dino a second consecutive home defeat in the league.
