Third Win on the Bounce for Resurgent Real Sapphire

Real Sapphire continued their impressive start to the year with a 3-1 comeback victory over Valiant.

A quick counter-attack saw Valiant break the deadlock in the 13th minute, with Sixtus Elegalam finishing off an impressive team move.

In the 34th minute, it was Real Sapphire’s turn to score a well-worked team goal. An unmarked Ayomide Junaid poked the ball into an empty net after a neat exchange of passes had left the goalkeeper in No Man’s Land. In the third minute of stoppage time, Akinfenwa Musa converted from the spot to put Real Sapphire ahead in the game for the first time.

Amole Abidemi scored a third for the visitors in the 70th minute, ensuring that they maintained their sixth spot on the log for another week.
