Iganmu avoided a 12th consecutive TCC League loss thanks to Olashile Kehinde’s stoppage time equalizer, with the game ending in a 4-4 draw.
The host got the goal fest underway in the 20th minute, with Odude Damilola breaking the deadlock after finding space behind the Iganmu defense and beating the offside trap. The Tigers from Lagos responded in kind eight minutes later, with Ogbonnaya Sunday converting from the spot.
Just before half-time, Imperial regained the lead with a fine strike from David Aremo, who blasted the ball home from close range.
The game intensified in the 2nd half, with both sides scoring in the opening 15 minutes. Aduroja Johnson pulled his side level in the 53rd minute before Aremo David restored Imperial’s lead from the spot four minutes later. On the hour mark, Kayode Onifade restored parity after latching onto a wayward back pass before rounding the goalkeeper and slotting the ball home.
Imperial pushed again for a fourth and got it in the 68th minute as Linus Victor found space behind the Iganmu defense to shoot home from close range. But Imperial’s four goals were not enough to win the game as Iganmu stole the show with the late equalizer, scoring four times for the first time this season.
