Beyond Limits restored their five-point lead at the top with a 2-0 victory over Gbagada.
The contest started out with a quiet 1st half that saw both sides evenly matched. Chances were few and far between with both goalkeepers having a field day in the half.
A sense of urgency however kicked in with the 2nd 45 as both sides, fueled by the half-time talk, roared back to life at the blast of the whistle. Seven minutes in, the visitors drew first blood.
Abdullahi Muhammed towered above everyone else before connecting well with a cross from the right flank, and powering his header into the net for the opener.
Fired up by the goal, coach Olumide’s boys pressed for a second but were made to wait till the 81st minute before Abdullahi struck again to seal the victory – a fifth for Beyond Limits in six league games against Gbagada.
For the hosts, a first league loss in the year means there’s still plenty to be done if they’re to make the most of the second half of the season.
