Dino’s two goals were enough as Beyond Limits slumped to a first league defeat since November.
The reigning champions began the game on the backfoot, with an obvious lack of defensive cohesion. Dino made the most of their false start by pressing for the first goal. And they would get it in style thanks to Stephen Shedrack.
Their opponents, their defense in disarray, gave the ball away to Tertsegha. The midfielder’s cross found an unmarked Shedrack in the 18-yard area who wasted no time tucking the ball home from close range.
The goal was a stimulus for Beyond Limits who upped their ante for a goal. Despite their many chances however, they failed to convert, lacking that finishing touch, thereby (unusually) extending their wait for a first goal.
While they were waiting, Dino doubled their lead. The goal, which came in the second half, started with another defensive error. Beyond Limits gave the ball away in their 18-yard area. One pass would lead to another before the ball fell at Tertsegha’s feet. From 25 yards out, he released a belter that forced the top corner of the goal to bulge.
Coach Olumide’s side would eventually get that elusive goal. But it was too little too late. With their first away defeat of the season, they’ve now fallen six points behind log leaders, Real Sapphire.
For the host, the win sees them complete a league double over their long-term rival, a delightful result for Coach Godwin.
