Sporting Lagos Triumph in Lagos Derby

Sporting Lagos made it back-to-back wins for the first time this year with a 1-0 victory over Iganmu.

The game got off to a slow start, with both sides creating little. Fans had to wait until the 41st minute before the first clear-cut chance of the game. Sporting Lagos’ Ibrahim Abubakir saw his shot saved after a dazzling run into the 18-yard area. The follow-up shot was however spun wide by Fuhad, keeping the game goalless.

Sporting Lagos uped the ante in search for a goal before the break. And they would get it on the stroke of half-time, with Fuhad redeeming himself by scoring the opener after making the most of a Stanley Chukwu pass.

15 minutes into the 2nd half, Fuhad was again in the mix as the hosts threatened to extend their lead. He however sent his shot directly at the goalkeeper after being set-up nicely by Oluebube. He would not be made to rue his missed chances as Sporting Lagos ran out winners against a toothless Iganmu.
