Slim Victory Earns Gbagada First Win of the Year

Gbagada defeated Valiant 1-0 to register a first away win of the 2025/2026 TCC League season.

The contest however did not come to life until the 20th minute when Samuel Bassey was called into action. His quick reflexes maintained parity between both sides, as he tipped the ball over the bar.

The quiet half seemed destined to run out without a goal until the 43rd minute.

A long pass bumbled into Habeeb Adeniran’s path in the center circle. An onrushing Samson Kolo mis-timed his run and lost the ball, leaving an empty goal mouth. And although he still needed to dribble past his marker, Habeeb made the most of the chance, shooting with direction and power to break the deadlock.

That goal proved to be the difference between both sides, with Valiant falling to a third consecutive defeat.
