Real Sapphire’s moving train proved unstoppable again as they brushed Dannaz aside in a 4-1 thumping.
The hosts needed only 12 minutes to get off the mark. Akinfennwa Musa’s electric run down the right flank saw him ghost in the 18-yard area and force a save from the goalkeeper. Aderibigbe Dare’s save was however parried into the path of an onrushing Ibrahim Joshua whose simple tap in was enough to break the deadlock.
Four minutes later, Musa got his own goal as Real Sapphire doubled their lead. After outpacing his marker and latching on to a defense-splitting pass, Musa was through on goal with only the keeper to beat. He sent the goalie the wrong way as the hosts grew in confidence.
Coach Dan’s men would go on to score two more goals before the end of the half. Ayomide made it 3-0 before the 20-minute mark before Musa Akinfenwa got his brace on the stroke of half time.
Dannaz pulled one back through Akiode Matthew. But nothing they did could stand Real Sapphire’s ruthlessness. The win sees them return to the top spot on the table as they continue their unbeaten start to the season.
