Real Sapphire continued their unbeaten start to the season with a slim 1-0 victory over VOE.
The visitors, in fine form, began the game in style, looking for that early goal. It however remained elusive as the VOE defense stood up all of their visitors’ offensive moves.
Coach Dan Darko’s men would eventually find the back of the net, minutes from the first half whistle.
Ogungbe Oyewole conceded a penalty when he felled Amole Bidemi who was through on goal. Akinfenwa Musa stepped up to the spot and converted the penalty. His goal would make the difference after 90 minutes as VOE failed to score.
It’s Real Sapphire’s seventh clean sheet of the season – the most managed by any side this season.
