Gbagada Sweep Valiant Aside in Comfortable Away Victory

Gbagada put three past Valiant in a rampant victory as the Blue Eagles soared to victory.

The visitors had a dream start to the game, scoring in the fifth minute. Taiwo Akire snuck behind the defense line to head home from close range and give his side an early lead.

Just before half-time, Gbagada struck again, from yet another set piece situation. The hosts were caught napping again, failing to deal with a freekick. An unmarked Gone Namene was on hand to blast home from close range after the goalkeeper’s initial save.

The visitors would take the comfortable lead into the break as their hosts failed to trouble them.

It was the same story in the second half as Gbagada continued to dominate proceedings. They would go on to score a third, this time from the penalty spot, in the 80th minute, as Segun Alfred sent the keeper the wrong way.

An impressive win for Coach Akinyelu’s men as they continue their climb up the table. For Valiant, the wait for a first league triumph over Gbagada continues
