Brave Army Fluster Eagle Feathers to Secure First Away Win of the Season

Valiant picked up maximum points on the road for the first time this season, defeating Gbagada 2-1.

The game started out as a quiet affair, with both sides creating very little in the first 30 minutes of action. All of that however changed four minutes from the half-time as Valiant broke the deadlock.

A quick break saw the visitors threaten from the flanks. Kaor Owen Shenji’s cross from the right wing inadvertently found the back of the net after a wrong judgment call by Blessing in goal.

In the 2nd half, the hosts came out guns-a-blazing as they pressed for an equalizer. Their hard work paid off in the 62nd minute as Itunu found space behind the opposition defense to fire home from close range and draw the hosts level.

But the Blue Eagles, unable to defend their point till the end, conceded again in the 76th minute. Michale Ugen was on hand to send the ball into the roof of the net, finishing a quick break by the visitors. His goal would be the last of the game as Valiant registered a rare victory on the road.
