Dino and Atlantic Business settled for a point apiece in a thrilling 2-2 encounter.
The visitors found themselves behind in the 11th minute, with Friday Godwin having no answer for Chinedu Umeh’s ferocious shot. The visitors, with their goal, meant business. But their hosts didn’t come to play either.
In the 29th minute, Coach Godwin Gibson’s lads pulled one back, thanks to Hassan Agbede. After receiving a delicious cut-back from Ikechukwu Friday in the area, Hassan’s firm shot was too hot to handle, pulling the hosts level.
Atlantic Business would again take the lead, five minutes from, thanks to Chinonso Onyegbulam’s beautiful strike. The forward, who came on in the 34th minute, received the ball with his back to the goal. A swift turn, a quick glance at the goalkeeper, and a dinking strike after, the visitors were in (again) in front.
Not willing to let their visitors out of sight, Dino drew level three minutes to half-time. Atlantic Business were again caught napping down their left flank. Daniel Effiong found space to roam into before releasing a low cross into the box. The ball found Hassan Agbede, who again unmarked, booted his strike, first against the bar, and then into the net.
Both sides were guilty of being wasteful in the second half. And with no fifth goal, both sides were forced to share the spoils.
MAN OF THE MATCH
Hassan Agbede (Dino)
Like a ghost, Hassan moved undetected. Like a super striker, the midfielder’s shots hit their target with precision.
