Beyond Limits opened their 2025/2026 TCC League account with a 3-1 victory over Sporting Lagos.
The hosts started the game the better side as they pressed the visitors for an early goal. All that effort produced results in the 14th minute when Merveille was brought down in the 18-yard area. After confirmation by VAR, Muiz Oladimeji stepped up and converted from the spot.
That would be the only goal of the half as both sides delayed the drama until the latter stages of the game.
Trailing by a lone goal, Sporting Lagos, in the 72nd minute, won a penalty when Abubakir was felled just inside the 18-yard area. After confirmation by another VAR check, the penalty was confirmed. Naziru stepped up and sent the ball beneath Aiyenugba’s arms to draw his side level.
But that equalizer lasted only seven minutes as Beyond Limits would eventually have the final say.
Oreoluwa’s bullet from just outside the penalty area in the 82nd minute put the hosts ahead again. Second-half substitute, Daniel, put the game beyond the Lagosians, as he scored Beyond Limits’ third, securing victory for Coach Olumide’s boys in dramatic fashion.
Not the smoothest of starts for Beyond Limits. But it’s a victory they will be looking to build on. For Sporting Lagos, it’s back to the drawing board.
