Gbagada will have their sights on back-to-back home victories when they face Sporting Lagos this weekend.
The Blue Eagles have not exactly enjoyed a fine run of form this year, winning just three of their league games. They can however finish the season on a high, starting with a victory in this weekend’s clash. Beyond their form however, there’s the recent history against Sporting Lagos to worry about.
Gbagada’s first defeat of the season came at the hands of their city rivals. The 3-1 loss was the first of three successive defeats Coach Akinyelu’s side suffered in the first half of the year. Righting that wrong will be one of their priorities coming into this game.
STAT ATTACK
Gbagada have managed just two home wins since October 26.
PLAYER TO WATCH
Ibrahim Abubakir (Sporting Lagos)
He contributed to three of the five goals his side scored last week. His opponents will have more than an eye on him.
