Manager Bio

Olajide Akinyelu has been Gbagada’s head coach since October 2013. Along with his side, they have been part of the TCC since 2020, which makes him one of the longest-serving managers in the league.

His side finished fifth on the log in the maiden season of the Championship but did enough to claim the TCC Cup at the expense of Beyond Limits in a colourful final at the old Agege Township Stadium.

The Blue Eagles improved in the second season as they finished in the top three, and also reached the TCC Cup semi-finals before losing out to eventual winners Dino SC. Akinyelu’s side continued their remarkable run in the cup to reach the final, but they lost to Valiant FC in a keenly contested game.

He won the TCC Coach of the Month award in January 2022 after numerous nominations and has been named coach of the week a couple of times too.
