Ijebu United football club is a Nationwide League One (NLO) club based in Ogun State. Founded as Olisa Football club in 2005, the club was the brain child of passionate and consummate sports enthusiasts from the private sector who believed in adding to the progress and development of the game of football in Nigeria replicating world’s best practices.
After its years of troubles, was re-launched as Ijebu United Football Club in 2015. The club narrowly lost out via penalty shootouts in two consecutive finals of the Nationwide League One competitions (2018 & 2019) for promotions to the Nigeria National League – the second tier of Nigerian football.
Former Nigeria football international Anthony Ujah, Babatunde Ridwan and a member of Nigeria’s U17 side to the 2019 finals in Brazil – Ibrahim Jabar, are some of the notable names that have played for the club at one stage or the other.
For the purpose of the Creative Championships, Otunba Dipo Dina International Stadium in Ijebu-Ode, Ogun State will be the home ground of the club
Associated with talent development, Gbagada FC also thrives on giving technical support to youngsters, a movement that since aided its climb up the ranks in Nigerian club football.
