Dino’s Wait for a First Win in Weeks Continues with VOE Loss

Dino’s wait for a first league win since 31st January continues after losing 2-1 to VOE.

A frenetic start to the game saw both sides create multiple goal-scoring opportunities. Both sides were however guilty of being profligate upfront which meant the game stayed goalless until the 43rd minute. Miscommunication in Dino’s defense led to Toriola Hammed conceding a penalty. Adebayo Fawaz stepped up and placed the ball beyond the goalkeeper for the opener.

Four minutes into the 2nd half, it was Dino’s turn to convert from the spot. Samuel Obudu converted his penalty after Daniel Effiong was brought down in the 18-yard area. But that parity restored lasted just under half an hour as VOE regained the lead. An unmarked Opatokun Abiola chipped the ball over Hammed to put the visitors in front again.

That goal would make all the difference, helping VOE to bag a win that will see them finish at least in a sixth spot this season.
