Champions Cap Off Season with Victory

Beyond Limits defeated Sporting Lagos 2-0 to finish the season on a winning note.

Days after being crowned champions, the Ikenne-based side faced a Sporting Lagos side making a final push for a Top 3 spot. The contest began with both sides registering shots on target in the first 12 minutes of the game. The remainder of the half was however dominated by Coach Olumide’s side, as they created more chances and made more attempts.

All of that pressure eventually proved fruitful as they broke the deadlock on the stroke of half-time. An unmarked Taiwo  Aderenle tapped the ball into an empty net after a cut-back from the right flank.

Not giving up on the contest, the Lagosians pressed for an equalizer early in the 2nd half. But, for all of their attempts, they were met with a brilliant Daniel Aiyenugba in goal, who shut them out. His saves kept Beyond Limits in front until Merveille Akinocho lobbed one over Daniel Ojo in the second minute of stoppage time to seal the win for the champions. 

The result see Beyond Limits finish the season with 59 points, with Daniel Aiyenugba earning an 11th clean sheet of the season and Merveille going joint-top of the Golden Boot chart with his 13th goal of the season.
