Broad City Dismiss Gbagada for Fourth Consecutive Win

Broad City left it late secure maximum points with a 2-0 victory over Gbagada.

Both sides came into the first 45 evenly matched. Broad City, despite being the faster side, failing to make the most of their momentum. The Blue Eagles, on the other hand, looking for back-to-back victories, were equally not their usual selves as they struggled to find their rhythm.

Both sides upped the ante in 2nd half as urgency for the opener set in. However, the storyline remained the same, and the game seemed destined for a draw until the 82nd minute. Hanif Sanusi, who has been in superb form of late, was in the right place at the right time to take advantage of Gbagada’s sloppy defense. He fired home from close range, setting off an euphoric celebration on the touch line.

Christopher Jeremiah would go on to make it two on the stroke of 90 minutes as the hosts continued their fine run of form. The result also sees them hold on to third spot as they recovered it from Sporting Lagos.
