Beyond Limits defeated Real Sapphire 2-1, opening up a 8-point lead at the top.
The reigning champions came into the game undefeated in 2026 and looking to maintain that momentum. Up against a host that has not lost since September, the contest began as a keenly contested tie. There was little to separate both sides by the end of the 1st half as each side held their own.
Four minutes into the 2nd half, the game came alive, with the hosts breaking the deadlock. After beating the offside trap, Rawa set up Akpabio Mark nicely, with the latter slotting the ball into an unguarded net for the lead. Four minutes from time, the hosts doubled their lead, this time from the spot, with Muhammed Abdullahi converting.
Real Sapphire would pull one back in stoppage time, but it was a little too late for the reigning champions. The loss sees them fall 19 points behind the log leaders. With just six league games left on their schedule, Real Sapphire are, without a doubt, out of the running for a title defense. Speaking of titles, can Beyond Limits wrap up their title charge by mid-March?
