VOE Batter Dannaz for First Win of the Year

VOE picked up a first win of the season this weekend, defeating Dannaz 3-0.

The hosts, with two goals in their last three games, got off to a frenzied start as they pressed for the opener. Dannaz could only hold them off for so long, as the hosts scored twice before half-time.

Ifeanyi Ogah was the first to strike. In the 30th minute, Ifeanyi was in the right place at the right time to finish off a rebound after a freekick had bounced off the woodwork. In the third minute of stoppage time, Opatokun Abiola made it 2-0, heaping pressure on Dannaz.

The 2nd half was just like the first for the Cedars, with the visitors struggling to keep up the pace of the game. A third goal, which had been in the offing since the 2nd half began, was eventually scored in the 65th minute (Muhammad Sodiq), sealing VOE’s triumph.
