Gbagada ended 2025 on a losing note after suffering a 3-0 defeat to VOE FA. The Blue Eagles can, however, flip the script this weekend by defeating the same opponents to start Year 2026 with a win.

VOE’s victory in December was their first league triumph over Coach Akinyelu’s boys. Upsetting the odds was made easier because they were playing in front of their home crowd. But how well will they weather the storm in Lagos this weekend?

Considering Gbagada’s home form, the visitors may not have too much to do. Three wins in their last six home games doesn’t particularly make the Blue Eagles a formidable threat.

However, this being a fixture they’ve dominated in times makes it difficult to write off the hosts. Add to that the renewed energy from the break, and you have a convocation of eagles that can’t wait to avenge December’s loss.
