TCCCUP25/26 PREVIEW MATCHDAY 5

3rd December, 2025

As the first half of the season draws near, we’re closer to the end of the first half of the 2025/2026 TCC Cup season. With two more rounds of group games to be played, all is at stake for sides fighting for cup glory this season.

The Battle for First and Third highlights the action in Group B.

Gbagada’s first victory of the season last weekend pushed them up to fourth on the log. The Blue Eagles, looking to make a late push for the third spot, will be eyeing victory over third-place Dannaz this weekend, with only two points separating both sides. However, can they record back-to-back victories in the cup for the first time this season?

Sporting Lagos will also be making a strong case to occupy that third spot when they tackle Iganmu. Like Gbagada, they have four points from four games, with a game in hand. But they’re in fifth on goal difference. Can they record their first away victory in the cup this weekend?

At the top of the log Beyond Limits and Atlantic Business will go head-to-head for a chance to top the group. The last time both sides met in the league this season, Atlantic won the seven-goal thriller. Will there be another goal fest this weekend?

Two unbeaten sides top the pile in Group A. Log leaders, VOE FA, can maintain their position with victory against Valiant this weekend. A win this weekend is pivotal for the table-toppers as they’re still within touching distance of four other sides in the group.

Real Sapphire and Dino are two of those sides placed two points behind the log leaders. Both sides go head-to-head this weekend for a chase to either keep VOE within reach or usurp them at the top. With three draws in their last combined eight TCC Cup games, will either one of these two sides step up when it matters this weekend?

The same question hangs over the third game of the group: Broad City v Imperial. With both sides placed fifth and fourth respectively with five points apiece, this showdown has everything at stake.
