Real Sapphire Slip Up Again as VOE Climb to Third

Real Sapphire’s league struggles continued after falling to a 1-0 defeat at VOE.

The reigning champions came into the game looking for a first away victory of the season. They started the contest with confidence, pressing all the buttons with their smooth passing and team play. But they were met with a sturdy opponent that gave very little away.

A quiet 1st half was followed by an eventful 2nd 45, with both sides creating scoring chances. It was, however the hosts who found the opener in the 59th minute. An error by the Real Sapphire defense gifted Shobaike Oluwasegun the ball. The substitute fired home from close range to put the hosts in front.

The goal proved to be the difference as VOE handed Real Sapphire a fourth loss of the season.
