Impressive Imperial Notch Third Win of the Season

There would be no first win of the season for Iganmu against Imperial this season as the visitors edged their hosts 3-1.

Around this time last season, the Tigers defeated Imperial to win their first game of the 2024/2025 campaign. And they were well on their way to repeat the feat when Ogbonna Sunday put them ahead in the 39th minute after converting from the spot.

But their defensive frailty hunted them again as Imperial drew level in the first minute of stoppage time. An unmarked Aremo David poked the ball home from close range to score Imperial’s first attempt on goal.

Smelling blood, the visitors upped the ante in the 2nd half, looking for gaps to exploit. Two minutes into the half, Aremo David got his brace thanks to an Ohia error in goal.

A host of missed chances later – which both sides were guilty of – Imperial sealed their win with a third in the 77th minute. The result leaves Iganmu in dire straits as their wait for a first win of the season continues.
