Dino SC 2 - 2 Sporting Lagos

20th October, 2025

Dino Slip to Third in Stalemate Against Sporting Lagos FA

Farok Alimi’s 53rd-minute goal – a free kick from almost 30 yards out – proved pivotal for Sporting Lagos FA as they came from behind to secure an important point at Dino.

His goal was the only one scored in the second half after both sides had traded blows in the first, with Dino coming out on top.

But it was the visitors who struck first, breaking the deadlock in the 10th minute thanks to Alabi Egbedokun’s lob. Theirs was an opener which came against the run of play, as Dino had dominated proceedings but failed to convert.

In the 13th minute however, the hosts finally hit the bull’s eye, opening their account.

Gerald Uzoma rose highest to power home a header from close range. Riding on the momentum, Coach Godwin’s side doubled their tally just before the 20th-minute mark. With the rains pouring, a mix-up in the Sporting Lagos defense saw the ball fall to Daniel Effiong who was lurking. He dispatched his shot with composure, curling it beyond Gaffer’s reach.

Despite the several opportunities that followed, both sides failed to convert as the game ended in a stalemate.
