Victorious VOE Vanquish Broad City in First Half Blitz

Broad city’s topsy-turvy season took another dip this weekend as they lost 3-1 to VOE.

The hosts, seeking redemption after their first loss of the season last week, started the game fired up. And after three minutes of play, they broke the deadlock.

Abdulraheem Hayyu’s volley from 25 yards out caught Rahmon Gasali offguard, thus opening VOE’s account. The opening goal, on a rainy day, was more than enough motivation for the hosts

In the 42nd minute, they extended their lead with Rahmon at the centre of the action yet again. His poor clearance led to an attempt on goal by Hayyu. His save was however not good enough as the rebound fell to Opatoki who tapped home from close range, beating the offside trap.

Two minutes later, VOE put the icing on an unforgettable first half with another goal. Abdulraheem Quyyum was put through on goal with a slick pass. He couldn’t have asked for a better situation as he was in a one-on-one situation with a backtracking Rahmon who slipped twice. It was an easy goal for Quyyum who extended VOE’s lead.

Although Broad City pulled one back in the second half, the hosts sailed to victory with a comfortable win.
