Valiant Extend Broad City Wait for a First Home Win of the Season

Valiant made it two draws in a row on the road as they were held to a 1-1 draw by Broad City.

Both sides came into the game on the back of contrasting results. Broad City had eyes on a second victory of the season after defeating Gbagada while Valiant were on the hunt for a first win of the season.

Broad City got off the blocks faster, creating early chances. Samson Kolo was forced to tip Toheeb Adegbite’s header over as the hosts pressed for an early goal. The guests, while struggling to contain Broad City’s aerial threats, broke the deadlock against the run of play.

In the 31st minute, Khalifa Musa finished off a counter-attacking move, leaving the Broad City defense chasing shadows. Rattled but not discouraged, the hosts continued to press for a goal. And three minutes from time, they bagged their equalizer.

In the 43rd minute, Valiant’s set-piece struggles came back to bite them hard. Christopher Jeremiah’s deft header from a corner-kick rattled the onion bag hard as Broad City drew level.

Both sides remained inseparable till the final whistle, sharing the points in a game that Broad City felt they should have won.
