Broad City registered maximum points from a TCC League game for the first time this season after a 3-0 victory over Gbagada.
Playing away for the first time this season and without a win in their first two games, the conditions around this game seemed harsh for the visitors. But they weathered the storm, starting the clash the best way possible, with an early goal.
Hanif Sanusi, one of the brightest stars in the squad this season, broke the deadlock in the 26th minute, curling his free kick into the top left corner. 10 minutes later, Broad City doubled their lead through Ayomide Bakare, who muscled off a defender before tucking the ball into an empty net.
A stunned Gbagada seemed overwhelmed by the goals, as they struggled to find their rhythm.
In the second half, things got better for the hosts, with Idowu Adebayo scoring a 57th-minute goal. His goal was however ruled out after the striker was caught offside.
Not willing to give the hosts any avenue to make a comeback, Broad City put the final nail in the coffin with a third goal. Christopher Jeremiah finished off a well-worked team move, killing off any chance of a Gbagada redemption.
It’s the first time Broad City have scored three goals in a TCC League game this season.
