Victorious VOE vanquish Valiant Boys

In a battle of the ‘V-teams,’ VOE came out the victors as they trampled Valiant in style.

Despite being on enemy territory, the visitors put their strongest foot forward in the opening second. And they were duly rewarded in the third minute as they broke the deadlock.

Abdulraheem was rightly positioned to take advantage of a slip-up in the Valiant set-up, poking the ball home from inside the six-yard area. The hosts had no response for that goal throughout the first half as VOE kept them at bay.

Valiant would go on to rue missed chances in the first half as VOE doubled their lead seven minutes after kick-off. Ogunfile Daniel was in the right place at the right time to finish off a well-worked team play.

From this point on, there was little next to nothing valiant about the hosts as they shipped two more goals in the following 12 minutes, dampening any hopes of a comeback.

VOE were the only team to record an away victory on Opening Day. They’ll be looking to keep up the momentum.
